Integrasi Program Ashabul Kahfi dan SBLP Dalam Pembentukan Karakter Kepemimpinan Siswa SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surabaya

Moral and mental health problems, is a pressing issue. This phenomenon is also influenced by schools’ focus on general knowledge and ethics without developing moral character. Therefore, this study analyzed character education at SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surabaya, encompassing several programs. In this study, the researchers formulated three research questions at SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surabaya. These questions are: (1) How is leadership character education implemented at SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surabaya? (2) How do the Ashabul Kahfi Program and the Social-Based Leadership Program (SBLP) develop leadership character in students at SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surabaya? (3) The results of the Ashabul Kahfi Program and SBLP in cultivating leadership character in students at SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surabaya. This study used a qualitative case study approach with purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected through participant observation, structured interviews, and documentation. Then, they were validated through triangulation and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman technique (interactive model). The results of this study indicate that SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surabaya actively and comprehensively implements Islamic leadership character education. This success is driven by the instillation of Islamic values in schools, teacher supervision, and supporting programs such as the Ashabul Kahfi and SBLP. The Ashabul Kahfi program fosters spiritual foundations, responsibility, and da’wah skills, directly practiced in the mosques of Allah. Furthermore, the SBLP program develops leadership based on social responsibility and provides excellent service to the community, according to each student’s level.
