Abstract

This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of doom spending, excessive consumption triggered by emotional and social pressures, through the lens of Islamic teachings, particularly the concepts of wastefulness, wealth management (maal), and the internalization of moral values. Using a qualitative literature study method, this study synthesizes various relevant literature sources to examine how the principles of moderation (wasathiyyah), social responsibility, and spiritual reflection can serve as a reflective-educational framework in countering consumptive behavior. The findings indicate that doom spending reflects a weak internalization of Islamic values ​​related to consumption, particularly those related to self-control and orientation towards the welfare of the community. This study is expected to contribute to the development of ethical consumption thinking in Islam and serve as an educational reference for the formation of moderate, ethical, and responsible consumption awareness in accordance with the challenges of today's society.
